Grong - The village with blue bridges!

The municipality of Grong is in Nord-Trøndelag approx 200 km north of Trondheim. Grong is the regional centre for Namdalen and also a communications hub for the area. Both the E6 and the Nordlandsbanen railway go through the municipality. The centre of Grong is surrounded by forests and mountains on all sides. There are lots of possibilities for hiking in the mountains and hunting, as well as around 500 fishing waters to tempt anglers. The whole family from the youngest upwards can enjoy catches large and small.

Salmon fishing
Grong is known for the good salmon fishing in its rivers Namsen and Sanddøla and thousands of anglers flock to the village each summer to try their luck. A wide range of fishing permits is available at all prices – from standard hourly and daily permits to exclusive packages with dedicated guides and fishing reserves.

Inland fishing
In addition to salmon fishing, Grong also has hundreds of exciting fishing waters to tempt anglers. It is possible to rent boats for three of the lakes through the tourist information office. All you need for inland fishing is the “Grongkortet” permit that you can buy from the tourist information office and most campsites, as well as from the Statoil petrol station in Harran and Namsen Laksakvarium.

Hunting and outdoor pursuits
Ptarmigan, wood grouse, black grouse and hare are the most common small game that can be hunted in Grong. Hunting permits can be bought from Grong Fritidssenter as well as other places.
